This qualification is aimed at food handlers working on-board ships. The qualification is intended for learners either already working in onboard catering, or are preparing to work in the industry. Learners gaining this qualification will know the food handler’s role at all stages of food production while at sea. They will understand their role in food preparation and will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food on board a ship.

This qualification is aimed at individuals working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. These industries can include pubs, retailers, large night clubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and sports facilities Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence.

This qualification is suitable for learners working or preparing to work in retail or in premises offering age-restricted products and/or services. Learners can choose a pathway relevant to their job role: retail, licensed hospitality, gambling, restricted entertainment and body modification. Learners who complete this qualification will understand licensing, age restrictions, legal responsibilities and penalties that apply to their chosen pathway. They will also know how to prevent unlawful sales of age-restricted products or services

The objective of this qualification is to support learners working or preparing to work in a customer service customer service environment. The qualification covers the principles of customer service including how to meet customers’ expectations, the importance of appropriate behaviour and communication techniques as well as ways to deal with problem customers.
